The Baldrige Excellence Framework is a systems approach to improving an organization's performance. It was established by an Enactment of Congress in 1987 by Secretary of Commerce Malcolm Baldrige. The Criteria sets the highest standards for “Performance Excellence” & dissemination of Evidence-Based Best Practices for leadership & operational management improvement for USA competition and is updated every 2 years. It is applied in thousands of organizations around the world in the manufacturing, service, small business, government, healthcare, and education sectors. It has experienced expansive use for awards programs and a business model used as an synergistic framework for systems alignment to improve and get sustainable results. More than 100 recipients over the years have broadly shared their best practices with others.
