Topic: Analysis of a Project Management Office in Healthcare IT

Lisa will share an introduction to a Project Management Office (PMO) including the history, characteristics, benefits and challenges along with the details of the post-mortem analysis of a United States (US) Healthcare IT company Project Management Office (PMO). The goal was to analyze the Company’s PMO by reviewing their processes, standards, and documentation against published PMO standards, references and guidelines. The analysis results in the Company’s final PMO score, which indicates the success of the PMO with regards to the following phases: I. Confirm the Goals, Objectives, Scope and Constraints of the Program; II. Determining the Current Organizational Status; III. Architect the PMO; IV. Establish a Project Management Framework; V. Project Management Training; VI. Launch a Pilot Project; VII. Launch the PMO; VIII. Evaluate the PMO. The analysis provided valuable information regarding the Company’s PMO framework, gaps and recommendations for improvement.

Lisa a Project Manager at a Healthcare IT company. She is constantly pursing project management and leadership skills. As the oldest of seven children Lisa’s passion began early in life. It continued with eight years in the Army, a bachelors in leadership and management, a PMP, a master’s certificate in Lean Six Sigma, and a Master’s of Science in Project Management.
