Organizational Change Management and the ADKAR Model

Jason_Falter.jpg

Projects are all about change, a move from a current state to a desired future state. As project managers, we spend a great deal of time on the technical side of the project (creating and maintaining Gantt charts, resource plans, communications, etc.). But do we spend enough time on the people side? Do we recognize that successful projects require a focus on both? Today, we’ll discuss one of the many tools in the Prosci® toolbelt, the ADKAR model, to get after the people aspect of change.

Guest Speaker: Jason Falter, PMP

Jason has been a project manager for nearly 20 years. He obtained his PMP certification in 2011 and has leveraged those skills in numerous roles within the defense contracting space. In 2017 he took his project management superpowers to Microsoft and worked as a project manager for 4 years until transitioning to his current role as a Sr Customer Engineer in Modern Service Management. Today, he helps customers realize the full potential of their Microsoft solutions by helping them identify optimization opportunities around people and processes. He is a former board member of PMI Tucson.
