Let's Play! Team Building with Games

Games have been in integral part of our lives since prehistoric times. Games have given us a rich history of war, insurrections, conquered nations, diplomacy, love, sex, piracy, torture, slavery, punishment, education, religion, magic, voodoo, gambling, sports and more... but those legendary stories can be shared another time.

Games are simply put... fun! Games can be competitive, cooperative, and/or collaborative.

There are many types of game in which we will explore and analyze some game dynamics.

  • This presentation will be historically educational, with a focus on the best of what abstract games have to offer.
  • You will learn what it takes to be a good player, and we'll put your new skills to the test.
  • Plan on staying a bit later as you discover the simple joy found in games and how they can be used to build deeper connections in your project teams.

Lets Play! I challenge you to make the next move..

Speaker and Game Host: David Rico, PMP

David , a.k.a. 'Rico', is a seasoned PMP with over 24 year in the profession, serving on many complex global IT projects throughout his career. Currently the Sr. Project Manager for Unisource Energy Services for both the Unisource Gas and Electric divisions, he is charged with delivering integration programs featuring organizational change, new technology introduction, and process development.

Beyond his day job, as a change maker, David is a game maker in his spare time. He is an artist, a wood worker, a game host, and philanthropist in sharing his form of art - making custom board games. David is a loving husband and father, and a truly terrible disc golfer, but he still plays for the fun of it, not for the competition of the sport.

David currently serves our chapter on the board, as Vice President of Communications, and on many of our subcommittees.
